An all-white cake in textured buttercream with fondant ruffle flowers. Vanilla cake, fresh raspberry cream filling, almond amaretto buttercream. It smelled so amazing I wanted to grab a chunk of cake with my bare hands and stuff it in my mouth! And I absolutely LOVE the simple, elegant look of this cake.

Star Wars Cake
This Cake was so much fun to make!
The top tier Death Star is made of rice krispy treats. Middle tier is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. The bottom tier is triple chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. Uh YUM.
May the force be with you. And lots of cake too.

Rainbow Sugar Cookies
What could be happier than a brightly colored rainbow? A brightly colored rainbow covered in buttercream! These little gems are inspired by St. Patrick's Day, but they'd be fun for anything, really!
1. Make your favorite sugar cookie dough.
2. Divide the dough in to 6 equal portions.
3. Color each portion using gel paste colors (these will be much more vivid than your regular water based colors)
4. Knead the color in like you're kneading bread dough.
5. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour, until it is well-chilled.
6. You'll need parchment paper and a rolling pin. I use these from Orson Gygi (support local businesses!). I use these for EVERYTHING and I don't know what I would do without them.
7. Roll your dough between two sheets of parchment into a rectangle about 1/8" thick.
8. Peel back top piece of parchment and set aside.
9. Repeat with each color, stacking it on the previous color after rolling it out.
10.-11. Trim sides to make a nice rectangle. Stop to admire the beautiful rainbow you just created. Then put the dough in the fridge for an hour or so (it needs to be really cold for the next part).
12. Slice about 1/4" thick and place on parchment lined cookie sheet.
13. Make a little notch in each piece. (otherwise, you'll have a big blob in the middle of your rainbow).
14. Bend into a rainbow shape and gently smooth together where you notched.
15. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-11 minutes.
16. Pipe on little rounds of buttercream using a plain round tip.
