Star Wars Cake

This Cake was so much fun to make!

The top tier Death Star is made of rice krispy treats. Middle tier is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. The bottom tier is triple chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. Uh YUM.

May the force be with you. And lots of cake too.

Silver and Mint Green Cake

Made this lovely cake for someone's birthday. It was so much fun to do. I absolutely love the colors. And the simplicity of one single flower.

Winnie the Pooh Cake

This cake was SO MUCH FUN! I spent hours (and hours and hours) on it, but it was so worth it. Each of these little characters are hand made and completely edible. Tigger is my favorite, with his little curly tail. The actual cake is a double chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. When I delivered the cake I saw the rest of the party - so SO cute. She had little homemade Tigger tail pretzels and a beehive pinata. Amazing. The cake was just the finishing touch!

I used to be afraid of fondant. I'm learning, that I just need to go for it!

This Week's Sweets: Caramel Corn Cupcakes

Chocolate Chocolate Chip mini cupcakes, topped with whipped Chocolate ganache, and homemade caramel corn.

These cupcakes were YUMmy. I used this chocolate ganache recipe. It's my absolute FAVORITE. It's not your traditional recipe, as it includes butter, but that gives it a nice thick texture, which I love. And the caramel corn was made with my great grandmother's recipe, which I'm not allowed to publish for threat of death.

I guess the moral of the story is, don't be afraid to go CRAZY with your desserts.

Aztec Cake

This is an Aztec inspired cake. Complete with handmade gum paste feathers.

Monster Cake

Well, this cuteness just pretty much speaks for itself. It turns out that the client who ordered this is works at thumbtack, which is an amazing website for small business owners (and people looking for small businesses). He even gave us a tour when we dropped off the cake. So cool! (click on the link and check out my thumbtack profile)

Minecraft Cake

My (now 8 year old) son is really in to Minecraft. Like really in to it. So, of course he went on to Pinterest (that's right, my old year old boy went on Pinterest) to find cake ideas for his birthday. This is what he insisted on. I think it turned out pretty awesome and he was super excited about it.

Under the delicious green pixels, was an even more delicious chocolate cake with Nutella filling. Yum.

Precious Sweets

I'm so very excited about this little gold and pink cake. And could this party have been any cuter? It was put on by the amazingly talented Mandi at Lou Lou Photography. You will seriously die when you see the adorable-ness that is this party. Go check out her photos. Right now.
