Plums.

We've been enjoying juicy purple plums for the last week or so. Tonight I decided to make something out of them. I was in a hurry, so nothing super fabuleux...But I ended up with some home made brownies, a plum cinnamon compote, and almond whipped cream. It was the perfect combination of flavors - the sweet tart plums, the spice of the cinnamon, and the subtle almond flavoring complimented the rich chocolate brownies really well. I think the 19 year old boys that we fed them to probably didn't appreciate it, but I did ;) Already looking forward to the left-overs tomorrow night. If they make until then.
