Precious Sweets

I'm so very excited about this little gold and pink cake. And could this party have been any cuter? It was put on by the amazingly talented Mandi at Lou Lou Photography. You will seriously die when you see the adorable-ness that is this party. Go check out her photos. Right now.

Miss Piggy Cake

This Miss Piggy Cake was inspired by the new movie, Muppets Most Wanted. Inside were 6 layers of rainbow cake and whipped vanilla buttercream.

I heard that the birthday girl oinked it right up!

Willy Wonka Cake

This cake was SO MUCH FUN to make! There are six layers of chocolate cake and whipped vanilla buttercream. Mmm good. The cake was then topped with smooth buttercream and a fondant doily, as well as a crazy assortment of candies. I think this 10 year old will have a pretty sweet day!

This Week's Sweets: Lego Cake

My son is in to Legos. Way in to Legos. I wasn't surprised at all when he requested this cake for his birthday. His face was PRICELESS when he saw the cake. Inside were three layers of vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. The cake is topped with white fondant and fondant Legos. And let's not forget the little people hard at work to "build" it!

(good thing my kids don't mind being the testers on my fondant skills, because I still have a long way to go!)

This Week's Sweets

Rosette Cakes

Three cakes in Mardi Gras hues for a sweet sixteen party. Chocolate with french vanilla cream, vanilla with fresh strawberry buttercream, and vanilla with french vanilla cream.

This was my first attempt at a rosette cake. I was pleased with the result, although, when I look at them, my eyes immediately gravitate to the flaws!

Combined Birthday Party (for my 5 year old son and 9 year old daughter)

This was quite the shindig. The kiddos had a blast. And so did I. I will admit that the twinkly lights and paper stars are still hanging... I think they may stick around for quite a while...

My son INSISTED on this monster cake (6" round cake). And my daughter wanted a rainbow cake (this is a miniature version of my rainbow cake - 6" round)

They thoroughly enjoyed them. And the party was a blast - old fashioned ring toss, balloon pop, mustache photobooth, hula hoop contest, bubble blowing contest, and twister. Oh and of course, FOOD!
